Where it all started
Twisted Whiskers was founded in 2006 by Dr Katja Bier, a qualified veterinarian with over 30-years of experience in the South African pet industry. Her mission was to create a holistic wellness experience for both cats and dogs and to provide a source of expertise for pet owners to depend on. By ensuring proper grooming techniques and informed pet wellness advice, Dr Bier and the Twisted Whiskers team have been actively changing the lives of pets and their owners for almost 2 decades.
Where we are today
16 years on, the Twisted Whiskers family is stronger than ever, with our two Deli & Spa locations in Bryanston and Randburg, as well as our Twisted Whiskers Pet Mall, where we import and sell luxury cat furniture, with more exciting products to come. We have positioned ourselves as one of Joburg’s top pet retailers through our commitment to excellence in our service and knowledge.
We are committed to continuous training for our staff and to stay updated with industry advancements in pet nutrition, stimulating toys, beautiful accessories, pet wellness products and expert grooming, to make sure we continue to be the industry leaders. Our friendly staff are trained to give both general and personalised advice to our clients about all things pet related.

Our Online Shop is filled with the same vet approved goodies as our stores; the only difference is that you can now do your shopping and make Spa bookings in your PJs, and you have a pet expert in your pocket.
To make it even more convenient for you, you can request a free delivery of your purchases within a 15km radius of either Twisted Whiskers branch.
